Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas, United States, January 2026 – Leif Wennerstrom has stepped into the role of Vice President, Talent Acquisition at Island, the fast-growing enterprise browser company redefining secure and productive work in a cloud- and AI-first world. Based at Island’s DFW headquarters, he will lead the global recruiting strategy, build scalable hiring systems, and partner with executive leadership to fuel the company’s next phase of expansion.
Before joining Island, Leif Wennerstrom served as VP, Global Talent Acquisition at Dialpad for nearly three and a half years, where he rebuilt the company’s TA function into a technology-enabled, AI-native recruiting engine. He led the creation of global recruiting hubs in Buenos Aires, Manila, and Bangalore, enabling round-the-clock delivery and helping Dialpad achieve record hiring velocity across sales, engineering, and product functions.
Prior to Dialpad, he spent close to five years at Procore Technologies, including leadership roles in Executive and International Talent Acquisition and Global Revenue Recruiting. During this period, he helped scale Procore through its IPO phase, expanded international talent presence, and built pipelines for early-career, industry, and executive hiring across finance, legal, strategy, and revenue organizations worldwide.
Earlier in his career, Leif was Senior Manager, Global Talent Acquisition at Cisco, where he was the North American TA lead for enterprise sales, security, collaboration, and customer success units, consistently outperforming delivery and KPI targets. He also held senior recruiting leadership positions at Yext and Cloudera, where he built global field recruiting teams and supported rapid headcount growth across multiple new countries.
Leif’s foundation in enterprise recruiting was shaped during more than seven years at NetApp, where he led executive search, field recruiting, and large-scale hiring programs as the company grew from mid-size to a global enterprise. He also contributed to recruitment transformation initiatives at SAP, Lawson Software, and Scient, gaining deep experience across pre-sales, consulting, and software development talent domains.
Island is the creator of the Enterprise Browser, designed to make the browser the strategic control plane for modern work. By embedding security, visibility, and governance directly into the browsing experience, Island enables organizations to operate safely and productively in a cloud- and AI-driven environment. Backed by leading investors including Insight Partners, Sequoia Capital, Cyberstarts, and Stripes Capital, Island is trusted by major global enterprises and is rapidly emerging as a category-defining platform at the intersection of security and productivity.
