London, England, United Kingdom, October 2025 — Zego, a pioneer in technology-led motor insurance, has announced the appointment of Liam Smyth as Director of People. With more than a decade of experience across recruitment, talent management, and people strategy, Liam steps into this leadership role to drive Zego’s talent and organizational development agenda as the company continues its mission to redefine modern motor insurance.

Liam has been an integral part of Zego for over six years, steadily rising through several key roles within the People and Talent functions. Most recently, he served as Head of People Partnering and Talent, where he led strategic initiatives to strengthen Zego’s talent ecosystem, enhance employee experience, and foster an inclusive workplace culture across its UK operations.

Before that, Liam held dual roles as Senior People Partner & Talent Lead and Talent Acquisition Lead, spearheading initiatives that improved hiring efficiency, leadership development, and organizational capability. His tenure at Zego has been marked by a deep commitment to aligning people strategy with business growth, helping the company scale rapidly while retaining its agile and innovation-driven culture.

Prior to joining Zego, Liam gained diverse experience in recruitment and talent consulting. He worked at Zepz as a Talent Partner, contributing to global talent acquisition strategies, and earlier at Impact Creative Recruitment Ltd, where he led the Marketing Division as Head of Recruitment. His early career at Hays—spanning nearly five years—saw him progress from Consultant to Senior Manager, where he developed deep expertise in team leadership, client management, and workforce solutions across Ireland and the UK.

Liam’s career journey reflects a strong foundation in people leadership and a proven ability to scale HR and talent functions in fast-paced, high-growth environments—making him well-suited to lead Zego’s next phase of organizational growth.

About Zego

Zego is an innovative motor insurance company revolutionizing the way individuals and businesses access insurance. Founded on the belief that traditional insurance models are outdated and restrictive, Zego leverages technology and data insights to create flexible, usage-based insurance solutions that reward good driving behavior.

Headquartered in London, Zego serves a broad range of customers—from gig economy drivers to fleet operators—offering transparent, fair, and efficient insurance products. The company continues to expand its footprint across the UK and Europe, leading the charge toward data-driven, customer-first mobility insurance.
