New York, United States, January 2026 — American Express has promoted Lindsey Stern to the role of Senior Vice President, Colleague Strategic Partner, marking a defining milestone in her distinguished 18-year journey with the organization. In her expanded leadership role, she will continue to shape enterprise-wide people strategies, strengthen colleague experience, and serve as a strategic HR partner across major business and brand portfolios.
Lindsey Stern brings nearly two decades of progressive HR leadership at American Express, having most recently served as Vice President, Colleague Strategic Partner, supporting the U.S. Consumer Business, Global Advertising & Brand Management, and Enterprise Innovation Partners. In this role, she acted as a trusted advisor to business leaders, guiding workforce strategy, organizational design, and talent initiatives across critical enterprise platforms.
Prior to this, she held the role of Vice President, Colleague Strategic Partner, where she provided HR leadership to Global Advertising and Brand Management, Corporate Affairs and Communications, Enterprise Strategy, and Enterprise Innovation Partners. Her work strengthened leadership pipelines, advanced enterprise culture priorities, and enabled strategic workforce alignment.
Earlier, Lindsey served as Vice President, Chief of Staff to the Chief Human Resources Officer, where she worked closely with the CHRO on enterprise transformation, leadership strategy, and people governance. She also held multiple HR Business Partner leadership roles including Vice President, Human Resources Business Partner, Director, Human Resources Business Partner, and Manager, Human Resources Business Partner, supporting diverse portfolios across Consumer Products and Services, Global Commercial Services, Global Corporate Payments, and Travel & Lifestyle Services.
Her early career at American Express included roles in Employee Relations and Compliance Services and Talent & Leadership Development, building her foundation in employee engagement, leadership development, and people risk governance.
She holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management and Development from New York University.
