Chicago, Illinois, United States, June 2025 – Lois Barry has been promoted to the role of Vice President, NORC People at NORC at the University of Chicago, where she now leads the organization’s human resources operations, including employee benefits, HR compliance, training and development, performance management, and strategic business partnering.
Lois brings over a decade of HR experience at NORC, where she has progressively grown through roles including Director, Associate Director, and HR Manager. Throughout her tenure, she has led critical functions such as employee relations, affirmative action compliance, government agency case management, and HR compliance with the Service Contract Act. Her experience in managing OFCCP audits and handling complex employee relations cases has strengthened NORC’s people policies and risk management frameworks.
Prior to joining NORC, Lois served as Corporate HR and Benefits Manager at Sogeti USA for over eight years. In this role, she was responsible for the design and administration of corporate benefit programs, vendor management, employee handbook governance, and compliance with all federal regulations. She also played a key role in transitioning benefits carriers and overseeing open enrollments.
Earlier in her career, she spent 13 years at Software Architects, where she held multiple titles including Human Resource Manager, Senior HR Generalist, and Benefits Specialist. Her responsibilities ranged from immigration and affirmative action compliance to benefits and HR policy development, giving her a broad foundation in both strategic and operational HR.
