Crawley, England, United Kingdom, March 2026 – Lucy Johnson has started a new position as Head of People Operations at Virgin Atlantic, where she will lead the airline’s people operations strategy and oversee key HR service delivery functions supporting the employee lifecycle.
Before joining Virgin Atlantic, Lucy served as Senior Manager – HR Operations at PlayStation, where she played a significant role in HR transformation initiatives and operational excellence programs supporting the organization’s global workforce. Her work focused on strengthening HR systems, driving operational improvements, and supporting strategic people initiatives.
Earlier, Lucy held the role of Head of People Operations and Insights at Infogrid, where she led HR policies, analytics, and people operations functions within the fast-growing technology company. Prior to that, she spent over four years at Nuffield Health, including serving as Head of People Operations, where she led a large HR services team delivering support to more than 16,000 employees across payroll, recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, and employee advisory services.
Lucy also built extensive HR shared services leadership experience during her tenure at Atkins, where she spent over a decade in several HR leadership roles, including HR Shared Services Manager and HR Manager, overseeing HR service delivery for thousands of employees and leading transformation projects including HR case management systems and employee self-service platforms.
She began her international HR leadership journey with Isaac Newton Group in Spain as Head of Personnel, supporting multinational employees across Spain, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
