London, England, United Kingdom, July 2025 – Luke McClaran has been appointed as the new Chief People Officer at Vitality, marking a significant milestone in his nearly two-decade-long career in people leadership and operations. As part of the executive committee, Luke will lead a wide-ranging HR portfolio spanning reward, talent, diversity, wellbeing, employee experience, and people analytics across the company’s global footprint.
Luke has been with Vitality for over twelve years, contributing across various strategic and operational HR roles. Most recently, he served as Deputy Chief People Officer, where he held a comprehensive remit that included people partnering, DEI, employee experience, digital HR enablement, and internal communications—impacting over 4,000 employees across Vitality’s international businesses.
Prior to that, Luke was HR Director, where for over five years, he led talent acquisition, employee relations, HR operations, reward, and performance management. His leadership played a central role in shaping the people strategy and digital transformation agenda across the UK and South Africa.
Earlier, Luke served as Head of HR, where he directed group HR functions across Vitality Health and Life. He was instrumental in driving several transformational people projects, managing strategic partnerships, and implementing performance frameworks and career pathing programs.
Before transitioning to HR leadership, Luke served as Head of Consultant Services at VitalityHealth. His previous experience includes nearly eight years at Bupa in customer service management and operations, laying the foundation for his people-first leadership philosophy.
