New Orleans, Louisiana, United States, December 17, 2024 – Jones Walker LLP, one of the nation’s largest law firms, has welcomed back Maggie Spell as its first Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Maggie previously served as a partner in the Labor & Employment Practice Group at the firm from 2017 to 2022 and began her tenure as an associate in 2009.

In her new role as CHRO, Maggie will oversee HR operations across the firm, including benefits, wellness programs, recruitment, staff professional development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion functions. Her mission is to align HR practices with Jones Walker’s strategic objectives, focusing on attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.

Maggie brings unique qualifications to this position, combining significant leadership, management, and HR expertise with her deep experience as a labor and employment attorney. During her time as a partner, she guided clients through complex employment-related disputes and compliance challenges. Prior to rejoining the firm, Maggie served as Director of Operations at Magnolia Community Services, a nonprofit organization providing support to adults with developmental disabilities, where she showcased her operational acumen and leadership skills.
