Gurgaon, Haryana, India, July 2025 — Mahalakshmi R has been appointed as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Apollo Tyres Ltd, joining the company’s Global Executive Committee (ExCom) with immediate effect. With close to 30 years of experience in human resources leadership across India, Africa, the UK, and Southeast Asia, Mahalakshmi brings deep global expertise in people strategy, organizational development, and talent transformation.
She joins Apollo Tyres after an impactful near-decade at Mondelēz International, where she most recently served as Head of HR for Southeast Asia, overseeing six dynamic markets and ten manufacturing units. Her earlier role as Head of HR India saw her leading business transformation efforts, embedding a future-fit organization structure, and driving award-winning engagement and retention programs.
Prior to Mondelēz, airtel was a significant part of Mahalakshmi’s journey, where she served in key HR roles including Senior Vice President & Global Head of Talent, Global Head of Rewards and Organisation Effectiveness, and Vice President & Head Group OD (Including M&A). During this tenure, she played a pivotal role in driving talent and organizational strategy across 20 countries, including the company’s M&A-led expansion into Africa.
Earlier in her career, she held senior HR leadership positions at Ranbaxy Laboratories, where she was responsible for the global R&D workforce, as well as Ballarpur Industries Limited (BILT), EY, Arthur Andersen, and Hewitt Associates (now Aon), gaining diverse experience across sectors and geographies.
