Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, February 2025 – Manish Malik has been promoted to Executive Director (Information Systems) & Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Indian Oil Corp Limited, where he will spearhead the company’s digital transformation and IT strategy. With over three decades of experience in IT leadership, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, and SAP governance, he has played a pivotal role in aligning technology with business objectives. In his new role, Manish will focus on strengthening IT infrastructure, optimizing digital initiatives, and ensuring robust cybersecurity measures.
Manish Malik has been with Indian Oil Corp Limited for nearly four years, serving as IT Head at the Marketing Division in Mumbai before his elevation to CIO. In this role, he was instrumental in streamlining IT infrastructure, enhancing enterprise applications, and implementing cutting-edge digital solutions to optimize operational efficiency. His expertise in SAP systems, IT governance, and business process automation has significantly contributed to the company’s digital agility.

Before this, he served as General Manager (IT) & IT Head at Ratnagiri Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited, a joint venture of IOCL, BPCL, and HPCL. In this position, he played a key role in defining the IT roadmap for one of the world’s largest upcoming refinery projects (60 MMT), overseeing the development of IT infrastructure and digital strategy for the multi-billion-dollar project.
His tenure at Indian Oil Corporation’s Marketing Division spans over a decade, during which he held several leadership positions, including General Manager (IT) & IT Infrastructure Head and DGM (IT) & Software Group Head. In these roles, he was responsible for IT system modernization, SAP implementations, and enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives. His contributions included implementing major SAP upgrades, integrating third-party applications, and enhancing IT security protocols.
Earlier in his career, Manish served as Chief Manager (IT) & SAP Techno-Functional Lead at Indian Oil’s Corporate Office, where he specialized in SAP ERP implementations, software development, and IT governance. With expertise in SAP SD configuration, ABAP development, and IS-OIL modules, he played a crucial role in deploying SAP-based solutions to optimize supply chain and business processes across Indian Oil’s operations.
Starting his career in the early 1990s, Manish worked in systems analysis, software development, and OLTP (Online Transaction Processing) systems at Indian Oil’s Marketing Division, Chandigarh, and New Delhi offices. Prior to joining Indian Oil, he worked as a Programmer at Graviera Suitings, developing payroll systems for textile mills, marking the beginning of his journey in enterprise IT solutions and process automation.
