Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States, May 2026 – Marc Schaepkens has been elevated to the role of Chief Technology Officer, Advanced Imaging Solutions (AIS) at GE HealthCare, marking a strategic leadership move as the organization strengthens its integrated imaging ecosystem and accelerates innovation across its portfolio.
In this newly expanded role, Marc will lead technology strategy for the Advanced Imaging Solutions business, focusing on advancing platform integration, accelerating innovation across imaging modalities, artificial intelligence, and software, and delivering more connected, end-to-end solutions for healthcare providers. The creation of AIS brings together Imaging and Advanced Visualization Solutions, enabling a unified approach spanning diagnosis, intervention, and follow-up, with a sharper focus on disease-centric care.
Marc brings over 16 years of leadership experience at GE HealthCare, where he has played a critical role in driving innovation across imaging technologies. Prior to his current elevation, he served as Chief Technology Officer for MICT & Imaging Sub-Systems / Imaging Hardware Platforms & Solutions, where he led advancements in imaging hardware and platform capabilities.
Earlier, he held senior executive roles in Supply Chain MICT & Imaging Sub-Systems and Global Imaging Sub-Systems, where he contributed to operational excellence and technology integration across global imaging businesses. His leadership journey at GE HealthCare also includes serving as General Manager for Global X-ray / CT / PET Detectors and Engineering Manager for Global X-ray Detectors, where he drove product innovation and technological advancements in diagnostic imaging.
Before joining GE HealthCare, Marc held leadership roles at Momentive Performance Materials, where he worked on innovation and enabling technologies, and earlier at General Electric and GE Global Research, contributing to advanced technology development and process integration. He began his career at Philips Mobile Display Systems.
Sharing his perspective on the new role, Marc highlighted the organization’s focus on evolving operating models to drive stronger execution and accelerate growth. He emphasized his commitment to advancing platform strategies, strengthening integration across imaging technologies, and enabling innovation that improves clinical outcomes. He also expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with leadership, including Philip Rackliffe and the AIS team, to deliver impactful solutions for customers and patients.
Marc holds a PhD in Physics from University at Albany, bringing deep technical expertise to his leadership in healthcare technology innovation.
