Vaduz, Liechtenstein, September 2025 – VP Bank AG has announced the appointment of Marcel Tschanz as its new Group Head People & Culture. In this role, Tschanz will focus on strengthening the bank’s people strategy, fostering an inclusive and agile culture, and aligning HR transformation with VP Bank’s global ambitions in private banking and wealth management.
Marcel has been with VP Bank AG since 2021, serving in several senior leadership positions. Most recently, he was Chief Transformation Officer, where he played a central role in driving the bank’s evolution into an Open Wealth Service pioneer through a collaborative and agile working model. During this tenure, he also held dual responsibilities as Chief of Staff and Chief Executive Officer at VP Bank (BVI) Ltd, leading operations in the British Virgin Islands with a strong focus on private banking, wealth management, and financial intermediary services.
Prior to joining VP Bank, Marcel spent more than a decade with PwC in Zurich. Initially appointed as Director Advisory in 2014, he later advanced to Partner in 2017, where he led transformation, operational excellence, and strategy consulting for financial service firms. His work included shaping operating models for wealth and asset managers, improving sales effectiveness, and spearheading digitisation initiatives across the sector.
Before PwC, Marcel served as Chief Executive Officer at VP Bank (Switzerland) AG, where he successfully drove growth, increased revenues, and reduced costs while leading a team of 100 professionals. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at UBS, including Managing Director overseeing private banking in Latin America, and Head Private Banking Zurich at BCGE, where he rebuilt operations, expanded market focus, and launched international initiatives.
Marcel began his career in consulting and technical leadership roles with AWK Group and Bruker Spectrospin AG, where he gained early experience in strategy, software development, and technical project leadership. Over the past two decades, his professional journey has blended expertise in private banking, transformation, and people leadership across Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and global markets.
