Hamburg, Germany, March 2026 – Marcus von Franck will join OTTO as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) starting June 2026, where he will lead the company’s Advertising Services, Marketing, and Product Development business units. In this role, von Franck will be responsible for strengthening OTTO’s marketing strategy and customer engagement while supporting the company’s continued evolution as one of Germany’s leading online retail platforms.
Commenting on the appointment, Dr. Marcus Ackermann, Member of the Otto Group Executive Board responsible for multichannel distance selling, said: “I am delighted that we have succeeded in gaining Marcus von Franck as a new member of OTTO’s Management Board. Von Franck currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for HelloFresh Group in North America, where he has been responsible for brand, performance marketing, and marketing management for the HelloFresh and Factor brands since 2023. In this role, he has overseen large-scale marketing operations across the North American market while driving brand growth and customer acquisition strategies.
Before joining HelloFresh, von Franck spent several years at Amazon, where he held multiple senior leadership roles including Director EU Prime & Marketing and Director Marketing & Prime across several European markets including Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, and Turkey. During his tenure, he also served as Director Marketing & Marketing Expansion, Director Marketing – Germany, and Head of Marketing, playing a key role in expanding Amazon’s marketing and customer growth strategies across Europe.
Earlier in his career, von Franck served as Vice President of Product Management at United Internet AG, overseeing major digital brands including WEB.DE, GMX, and 1&1 Mail & Media. He also held the role of Marketing Director at lastminute.com group and previously worked at Amazon.com as Associates Manager for Performance Marketing. He began his career with SinnerSchrader, where he spent five years leading cross-functional teams supporting major retail and financial services companies in building successful e-commerce platforms.
