Greenville, South Carolina, United States, June 2024 – Marty Blied has joined Fifth Third Bank as the new Vice President, Sr. HR Business Partner – Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee. Marty brings over 14 years of extensive experience in human resources and strategic leadership to this new role, ready to enhance HR functions across multiple regions.

Marty has been with Fifth Third Bank for over 14 years. Prior to his current role, he served as the Vice President, Sr. HR Business Partner – Cincinnati, Columbus, and Kentucky Regions for nearly six years. In this position, he played a crucial role in leading the HR organization for these regions, focusing on employee relations, performance management, and strategic HR initiatives.

Before that, Marty was the Vice President, Sr. HR Business Partner – Mortgage for about two years. He led the Human Resources organization for Fifth Third’s Mortgage Company, driving HR strategies and operations to support business goals.

Marty also served as the Vice President, Sr. HR Business Partner – Central Operations, Global Solutions, Business Controls for over three years. He led the HR organization for Central Operations, comprising 2,300 employees who handle Fifth Third Bank’s back-office functions and call services for nearly six million customers.

Earlier in his career at Fifth Third Bank, Marty held the position of Vice President, HR Business Partner – Commercial for nearly four years, where he supported the HR needs for the Commercial line of business, generating significant revenue.

Prior to joining Fifth Third Bank, Marty worked as a Sr. HR Manager at Danaher Corporation for over two years, where he directed a staff of three in the design and delivery of HR programs and services for a $300M operating company.

Marty also had a notable tenure at General Electric – Aviation, where he held various HR roles for over five years, including HR Manager, HRLP rotations, and other leadership positions. His experience at GE involved supporting multiple business units, driving employee engagement, facilitating training sessions, and leading HR initiatives across global teams.

Earlier in his career, Marty worked at General Motors for nearly two years as an Employment Supervisor and Labor Relations Representative, where he led hourly recruitment and staffing, investigated HR issues, and supported labor relations activities.
