WHSmith, a leading global travel retailer, has officially announced the appointment of Max Izzard FCMA, CGMA, as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective from 1st September.
This strategic move comes following the retirement of Robert Moorhead, marking a significant transition in the company’s financial leadership.
Max Izzard, who is currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Group and Corporate Finance at Burberry, brings a wealth of experience to WHSmith. Throughout his tenure at Burberry, Izzard played a pivotal role in the strategic transformation of the business, meticulously overseeing its financial operations, tax, and treasury responsibilities. His impressive career also includes senior financial positions at InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®) and Morgans Hotel Group, showcasing a broad and successful background in finance and commercial roles across multiple international businesses.
Reflecting on the appointment, Annette Court, Chair of WHSmith, expressed deep gratitude for Moorhead’s two decades of service and contributions to the company. “I want to pay tribute to Robert’s outstanding achievements during his 20 years at WHSmith.
