Chantilly, Virginia, United States, February 2026 — Melissa Brushwood, SPHR has stepped into a new role as Director, HR Systems & Administration at CORT, marking a significant progression in her career spanning human resources systems, people operations, and HR technology leadership.
In her new role, Melissa is responsible for leading HR systems strategy and administrative operations, with a focus on optimising HR technology platforms, strengthening process efficiency, and ensuring data integrity and compliance across the organisation. Her appointment comes at a time when organisations continue to prioritise scalable, technology-enabled people operations to support workforce agility and growth.
Prior to joining CORT, Melissa served as HRMS Manager at Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group | Kaiser Permanente, where she led HR systems management and supported enterprise-wide HR technology initiatives. Earlier, she spent nearly six years at CohnReznick LLP, progressing through leadership roles including Senior Manager, People & Culture Operations, where she oversaw onboarding and offboarding operations, HR communications, audit management, compliance programs, and process improvement initiatives.
Melissa also brings extensive HR technology experience from her tenure at Cherry Bekaert LLP, where she held multiple roles including HRIS Manager and Business Solutions Manager – HR Technology. Across these roles, she led HRIS implementations, reporting and analytics, compliance reporting, and system optimisation initiatives, building a strong foundation in HR systems governance and operational excellence.
