Munich, Bavaria, Germany, July 2024 – Michael Kirchner has started a new role as Head of HR Nokia Strategy & Technology at Nokia. In this capacity, Michael will be responsible for strategic HR topics for approximately 3000 employees globally, reporting directly to the Chief Strategy and Technology Officer and Nokia Group Leadership Team member Nishant Batra.
Michael Kirchner has been with Nokia for over 16 years. Prior to his new role, he served as the Strategic People Partner for Nokia Strategy & Technology, where he provided strategic HR support for over 1000 employees. His main focus areas included creating and implementing organization-wide people strategies, employee engagement, talent development, and senior leader recruitment.
Before that, Michael was the Talent Program Manager for Executive Talent. In this role, he ensured high-quality succession plans and development actions for executive positions, facilitated talent and leadership reviews at the Group Leadership Team level, and designed special talent projects sponsored by the Nokia CEO.
Earlier in his career at Nokia, Michael held various roles such as Global HR Organizational Development Program Lead, Global HR Project Manager, and HR Strategic Project Manager, where he led multiple strategic HR projects, cultural change initiatives, and talent management programs.
