Warrington, England, United Kingdom, September 2024 – Michaela Leech has been appointed as the Head of People Operations at VisitBritain. In this role, Leech will lead the people operations function, focusing on enhancing organizational effectiveness and employee experience across the national tourism agency.
Michaela Leech joins VisitBritain with extensive experience in people and operations roles. Most recently, she served as the People and Operations Director at No Brainer – Search-driven Content Agency | B Corp for nearly ten months, where she was responsible for overseeing people operations and driving strategic initiatives to support organizational growth.
Prior to this, Leech held the role of People and Operations Manager at No Brainer for over two years, where she played a key role in managing HR functions and improving operational processes.
Her career also includes significant experience at Byrne & Doherty Mortgage Specialists, where she worked as a People and Operations Manager for over five and a half years. Leech’s tenure at Byrne & Doherty involved developing and implementing HR strategies to support business objectives.
Earlier in her career, Leech worked at Asda for over six years, holding various roles including General Store Manager, Project Manager (People & Operations), and HR Business Partner. In these positions, she contributed to store management, project planning, and HR strategy development.
Leech’s career began as a Marketing Intern at GE Capital, where she gained initial experience in a corporate setting.
VisitBritain is the national tourism agency for Britain, funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). It is responsible for promoting Britain worldwide and developing its visitor economy. The agency’s mission is to grow the value of inbound tourism, increase visitor spend across Britain, and enhance the country’s global ranking as a tourist destination.
