New York, United States, November 2025 — A Place for Mom has appointed Michelle Deitchman as its new Chief People Officer, bringing to the organisation a powerful blend of strategic HR leadership, workforce insights, people analytics expertise, and nearly two decades of senior experience across insurance, operations, technology, data, and transformation functions. In her new role, Michelle will lead culture, talent strategy, employee experience, workforce development, and organisational effectiveness as A Place for Mom continues to expand as the nation’s leading senior-care advisory service.
Michelle most recently served at The Hartford, where she held several senior leadership roles over nearly two decades, culminating in her position as SVP, HR Business Partner to the HIG President and Head of Property & Casualty HR. In this role, she led HR strategy for U.S. and international P&C businesses, risk services, innovation, sales and distribution, and enterprise-wide workforce analytics. Her work shaped major transformation initiatives, strategic workforce planning, and data-driven HR decision-making across a complex global portfolio.
Before taking on the P&C HR mandate, Michelle served as VP, Head of Claims, Operations, Technology, Cyber, Data & Analytics HR and Head of Workforce Analytics, where she integrated people strategy with digital transformation, cyber capability growth, and operational excellence across large employee groups. She also strengthened organisational systems and insights through her earlier role as VP, Employee Experience & Insights, leading enterprise workforce analytics, data governance, and employee experience initiatives.
Earlier at The Hartford, Michelle built her HRBP foundation through leadership roles including VP, Lead HR Business Partner for Middle Market, Specialty Markets & Risk Engineering, AVP, HR Digital Transformation, Director HRBP – Claims, Senior Consultant, Property & Casualty Performance Analytics, and Performance Consultant for Technology & Finance. These roles deepened her expertise in organisational development, continuous improvement, digital HR, and analytics-driven talent strategy.
Michelle’s career foundations were shaped at Pratt & Whitney, where she held roles including Operational Excellence Director, Quality Manager, Supply Chain Manager, and Organisational Change Readiness Consultant (ERP). Her early work in operations, quality, supply chain, and enterprise transformation contributed to her strong analytical mindset and execution capability. She also taught for five years as Faculty at University of Phoenix, covering Statistics, Psychology, Organisational Development, International Business, and Marketing—strengthening her academic grounding in behavioural science and organisational performance.
