Boulder County, Colorado, United States, June 2025 – Mindy Yeager has stepped into the role of Vice President of Human Resources at American Forests, the nation’s oldest nonprofit conservation organization, further strengthening its leadership as it continues to advance its mission to restore and protect forest ecosystems.
With over three years at BookNook, Mindy served as Senior Director of Tutor Operations, where she was instrumental in building high-performing teams and overseeing all aspects of recruitment, onboarding, quality assurance, and operational planning in the EdTech sector. Her leadership was key to designing and automating processes that improved workforce efficiency and drove organizational outcomes.
Prior to BookNook, she held the position of Human Resources Director at Avid4 Adventure for over five years. There, she established and scaled the HR function to support multi-state expansion, implemented new HRIS systems, and led initiatives in talent acquisition, compliance, learning and development, and employee relations. Her change management approach was pivotal in guiding the organization through rapid growth.
Earlier in her career, Mindy managed a variety of talent and recruitment roles at organizations including Petco, Methodist Healthcare System, Baylor Scott & White Health, and Robert Half. She gained a reputation for developing effective recruitment strategies, optimizing talent processes, and advising executive teams on HR impacts, compliance, and employee engagement.
Her diverse background—spanning the nonprofit, education technology, outdoor recreation, and corporate sectors—positions Mindy as a leader who can drive HR strategy and talent management for organizations focused on mission-driven growth.
