Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, February 2026 – Mohit Kapoor has started a new position as Executive Director & Head Legal at DBS Bank, taking charge of the bank’s legal function in India.
In his new role, Mohit will head the Legal Function at DBS Bank, India, overseeing corporate, wholesale, institutional, and consumer banking products. He will provide strategic legal guidance to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate risk across diverse banking services, while collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen legal frameworks and support business objectives.
Prior to joining DBS Bank, Mohit served as Executive Vice President & Head-Legal at SBI Card, where he led the legal function for one of India’s leading credit card issuers. A dual-qualified attorney in India and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales, he brings extensive expertise across corporate and commercial law, regulatory compliance, and secretarial governance within banking, financial services, insurance, payments, fintech, IT, ITeS, and consulting sectors across India and the Asia Pacific.
Earlier, he held leadership roles as Head of Legal at IIFL Finance and Group Executive Vice President & Head-Legal at RBL Bank, providing comprehensive legal support across banking businesses and functions. His experience also includes serving as Director – Legal & Compliance at Religare Finvest Limited, Chief Counsel – Asia Pacific at Aon Hewitt, Senior Vice President at Max Life Insurance Company Limited, and Vice President & General Counsel, GCG India at Citigroup. He began his international legal journey with Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu in Tokyo and later headed legal functions for IMG/TWI in India.
