Since joining IDL in December 2010, Ms. Selvaratnam has been instrumental in guiding the company’s transformation into one of Sri Lanka’s most respected names in the premium spirits industry. Her deep understanding of the organization, combined with her commitment to ethical business practices and corporate excellence, continues to reinforce IDL’s reputation for integrity, quality, and innovation.

As Deputy Chairperson, Ms. Selvaratnam will provide strategic oversight to the Board, ensuring alignment between business performance, sustainability goals, and long-term value creation. Her leadership will further strengthen IDL’s focus on operational excellence and its mission to deliver world-class products and experiences to consumers.

Her appointment comes at a time when IDL continues to expand its footprint and enhance its product portfolio in response to evolving market dynamics, reinforcing its position as a leading corporate in Sri Lanka’s beverage sector.

About International Distillers Ltd

International Distillers Ltd (IDL) began its journey in 1980 when Gilbeys of London established its operations in Sri Lanka as Gilbeys Lanka Limited. Following the acquisition of its controlling interest by East India Holdings (Pvt) Ltd in 2004, the company was renamed ID Lanka Limited. In January 2014, as part of a strategic rebranding, it adopted the name International Distillers Ltd (IDL) to better reflect its diversified product offerings.

Today, IDL stands among Sri Lanka’s leading manufacturers and importers of quality spirits, with a diverse portfolio of iconic brands synonymous with class, craftsmanship, and excellence. It is also the only liquor beverage manufacturer in Sri Lanka to hold triple ISO certifications in Quality Management, Food Safety Management, and Environmental Management Systems certified by SGS.

Guided by its values of ethics, integrity, and good governance, IDL remains committed to innovation, sustainability, and delivering superior quality products that resonate with its consumers and business partners alike.
