Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, December 2025 — Mukhtar Sayed has been appointed as Head – Third Party Manufacturing at Abbott, marking a significant leadership advancement within the organization. Based in Mumbai, Mukhtar will oversee strategic collaborations with external manufacturing partners to ensure robust supply chain efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
In his most recent role as Senior Manager – Supply Chain / External Manufacturing at Abbott India, Mukhtar played a critical role in driving operational excellence across supply chain processes and strengthening Abbott’s external manufacturing ecosystem for over four years.
Prior to that, he served for more than six years as Manager – Supply Chain / External Manufacturing at Abbott India Limited, where he contributed to consistent product delivery, technology transfers, and regulatory compliance while managing vendor relationships and cost negotiations.
Before his journey at Abbott, Mukhtar worked at Bayer Pharmaceuticals Private Limited for over three years as Manager – Contract Manufacturing & Material Planning, where he focused on production coordination and inventory control for contract manufacturing operations.
Earlier, he spent nearly nine years at Cipla Ltd in Supply Chain – Third Party Manufacturing Operations, where he gained extensive experience managing end-to-end third-party operations and supply continuity.
