Boston, Massachusetts, United States, January 2025 – Nick Gerteisen has taken on the role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at eClinical Solutions, bringing with him over two decades of expertise in cybersecurity, IT services, and leadership. In his new role, Nick will oversee eClinical’s security strategies, ensuring the protection of critical data assets while enabling the company’s digital growth in the life sciences sector.
Prior to joining eClinical Solutions, Nick Gerteisen was Senior Director of Cybersecurity at Mark43, where he played a key role in fortifying the company’s cybersecurity infrastructure and developing risk management frameworks.

Before that, he spent over three years at Smith & Nephew, where he served as Deputy CISO before stepping up as Interim Chief Information Security Officer. During his tenure, he spearheaded multiple global security initiatives, focusing on compliance, threat intelligence, and digital resilience.
Nick also had an impressive 13-year tenure at Insulet Corporation, where he served as Deputy Chief Information Security Officer and Director of Global IT Services. There, he led global security efforts, overseeing enterprise risk management, data protection, and IT service strategies for a rapidly growing medical device organization.
Beyond corporate leadership, Nick has contributed to academia as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University Extension and an Adjunct Faculty & Subject Matter Expert at Southern New Hampshire University, shaping the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
