London, England, United Kingdom, February 2026 —Nick Iles has started his new role as Head of HR Technology and Transformation at Legal & General, marking a significant step in his leadership journey in HR digital innovation and enterprise transformation. In this role, he spearheads HR technology initiatives and transformation strategies, reporting directly to the Group COO (HR).
Nick is leading the optimisation of Oracle HCM to enhance user experience and operational efficiency, while delivering critical improvements in HR technology aligned to organisational priorities. His mandate includes strengthening digital foundations, driving transformation strategy, and ensuring HR technology enables long-term business outcomes within a purpose-led and value-centric organisation.
Prior to joining Legal & General, Nick spent over eight years at Barclays, where he most recently served as HR Digital Programme Director. He led the transformation of the HR function through the implementation of a new Target Operating Model and digital platforms including Workday, ServiceNow HRSD, and Microsoft 365. He also drove Gen AI and Agentic AI initiatives, advancing innovation and operational efficiency across HR processes. Earlier at Barclays, he served as Global Head of Colleague Experience, overseeing global tech support, onboarding delivery, digital service innovation, and supplier management.
Before Barclays, Nick built an extensive 18-year career at Unilever, holding several global leadership roles including Global End User Support & VIP Services Director, Global Service Excellence Director, and Global User Experience Director. During this tenure, he led large-scale shared services transformation programmes across HR, Finance, IT, and Workplace functions, deploying Salesforce for HR digital experience in partnership with Workday and establishing global service excellence standards.
His appointment reinforces Legal & General’s commitment to leveraging advanced HR technology and transformation capabilities to drive efficiency, colleague experience, and long-term value creation.
