Cumbria, England, United Kingdom, March 2025 – Nicola Bacon has joined Energus as the new Head of People Skills and Strategic Partnerships, bringing more than three decades of progressive experience in human resources, workforce planning, and strategic HR leadership within the UK’s nuclear and energy sectors. In her new role, Nicola will lead efforts to advance talent development initiatives, forge industry-academic partnerships, and shape the future workforce for the nuclear sector through Energus’ flagship training and development programmes.
Most recently, Nicola served as Interim People Director at the Civil Nuclear Constabulary, where she led workforce strategies focused on inclusivity, performance management, and policy implementation. Prior to that, she was Head of HR – Major Projects at Magnox Ltd, responsible for workforce planning and HR leadership across complex infrastructure initiatives.

Earlier, Nicola held a series of senior HR roles across the nuclear industry, including Senior HR Project Manager at Nuclear Transport Solutions, and Head of HR, Group Operations at the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, where she played a central role in talent development, policy transformation, and employee engagement initiatives across national programmes.
She also spent over a decade at International Nuclear Services, where she progressed through roles such as HR Manager, Head of HR, and HR & Security Manager, leading strategic people initiatives across global operations. Nicola began her career at Sellafield Ltd, where she built a solid foundation in HR advisory roles over 17 years.
