Joe Bertelsen brings to Nuclera a wealth of experience spanning over two decades in the biotech and life sciences industry. His impressive career includes pivotal roles at Covance, where he served as Director of Sales, International Distribution, and Channel Partners, and at Abcam, where he significantly contributed as the US Director of Sales. Bertelsen’s tenure at Diagenode, a Hologic company, as Senior Vice President-Business Unit Manager, further underscores his expertise in driving business growth and operational excellence.

Before joining Nuclera, Bertelsen was the Director of Commercialization at the Institute for Protein Innovation, where he was instrumental in leading initiatives to commercialize breakthrough technologies. His skill set encompasses commercialization, strategic planning, business development, and building strategic partnerships, making him an invaluable asset to Nuclera’s leadership team.

Founded in 2013 by PhD students from the University of Cambridge, Nuclera has grown into an international presence with over 100 employees across its Cambridge, UK, and Boston, MA offices. The company is dedicated to improving human health by making proteins more accessible to researchers, embodying the ethos of “fail fast, succeed faster” through their cutting-edge technology.
