Miami, Florida, United States, March 2025 – The World, the only private residential community-at-sea, has announced the appointment of Odalys Paez-Cadenas as its new Vice President Human Resources. In her new role, Odalys will lead global HR initiatives supporting the Ship’s elite resident-owners and world-class crew, bringing her extensive experience in HR leadership within the cruise and luxury travel sector.
Before joining The World, Odalys Paez-Cadenas served as AVP, Strategy and HR Operations at Carnival Cruise Line, where she also held the position of Senior Director, HR Business Partner. Her work at Carnival was instrumental in aligning people strategy with business operations, driving transformation and efficiency across the workforce.

Earlier, she spent over five years as Vice President of Human Resources at Crystal Cruises, leading talent management, HR operations, and cultural initiatives. Prior to that, she spent more than nine years with Costa Cruise Lines North America as Human Resources Director, where she played a key role in developing and expanding HR functions to support a global maritime workforce.
Her career began with roles in HR and payroll operations at Pride Rock Development Group and Cunard Line, where she gained early leadership experience that would shape her approach to strategic people management. With over two decades in the cruise and hospitality industry, Odalys brings a deep understanding of luxury service culture and employee engagement in global, dynamic environments.
