Peter Gruen Appointed as Director of Human Resources at Uber

San Francisco, California, USA – Peter Gruen has recently been named the Director of Human Resources at Uber. With over two decades of experience in the field, Gruen is set to bring his extensive expertise in human resources strategy and business transformation to the San Francisco-based company.

Before joining Uber, Gruen served as the Global Human Resources Director at Equinix from February 2022 to April 2024, where he was celebrated for his leadership qualities and his strategic advisory roles to C-Suite executives. His efforts were instrumental in driving business transformation and developing integrated talent strategies worldwide.

Prior to Equinix, Gruen worked at Google as a Global Human Resources Business Partner for nearly four years, from June 2018 to February 2022. His tenure at Google was marked by significant contributions to HR initiatives that supported the company’s innovative culture and expansive business goals.

Earlier, Gruen was part of Deloitte’s Human Capital Consulting team in the Greater Chicago Area, where he served as a Manager from October 2015 to June 2018. Here, he played a key role in consulting on organizational effectiveness and change management, enhancing Deloitte’s human capital services.

His previous experiences also include significant roles at Towers Watson and the Capital H Group, where he developed a robust foundation in organizational consulting and effectiveness. His early career steps were taken at Mercer Human Resource Consulting and PwC/Mellon Financial Corporation, which provided him with a strong background in business development and operations management.
