Weybridge, England ,United Kingdom, March 2026 — PurpleSector has appointed Peter Schroder as Chief Technology and Innovation Officer. In this role, he will lead the development and application of high-performance operating models derived from Formula 1, helping organisations make better decisions faster and deliver sustained competitive advantage across industrial, defence, and complex operational environments.
At PurpleSector, Peter Schroder will define and evolve the firm’s technical and innovation strategy, translate F1-derived methodologies into scalable industrial applications, and lead complex client engagements spanning rapid diagnostics through operational transformation. His role will also include developing digital, data, and simulation capabilities to support decision-making at scale, mentoring multidisciplinary engineering teams, and strengthening technical leadership across engagements.
Prior to joining PurpleSector, he served as Technical Director at Zero®, leading technical delivery, systems architecture, and engineering development for synthetic-fuel technology, with responsibilities spanning reactor design, control systems, automation, and digital-twin–driven scale-up. Alongside this, he has also contributed as a Board Advisor to Embody Labs.
Earlier, Peter Schroder served as Chief Technology Officer at Karakuri, where he led architecture, embedded systems, motion control, electronics, cloud/device integration, and system safety, while building technical roadmaps, engineering processes, and supplier ecosystems to support scalable delivery.
He also held senior technology leadership roles at McLaren Applied Technologies, including serving as Chief Technology Officer and Technical Director, where he defined unified technical strategy across digital twins, electrified powertrains, and real-time telemetry and control, and contributed to engineering organisation design and innovation frameworks at scale.
Before this, he spent nearly two decades at McLaren Racing Ltd, progressing through roles including Chief Engineer, Head of Systems Engineering (Software, Electronics, Control), and Control Systems Engineer, building deep expertise across embedded control, hybrid systems, powertrain integration, simulation and analytics, and performance-focused engineering environments. He also contributed to technology and governance forums, including representation on industry safety working groups.
He also served as a Board Advisor with Fabrica AI, supporting system architecture and robotics-focused development methodologies, and contributing to work aligned with AI-based optimisation tools.
