Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, April 2025 — Piyush Anchliya has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Cashfree Payments, a leading digital payments and API banking company based in India. In his new role, Piyush will spearhead the company’s financial strategy and operations, playing a critical part in strengthening its financial foundation and enabling Cashfree’s ongoing expansion across domestic and global markets. He will work closely with Akash Sinha, Co-founder of Cashfree, to shape the company’s long-term financial roadmap.
Piyush Anchliya joins Cashfree with over 15 years of distinguished experience in financial services, asset management, investment banking, and consulting across India, the US, and the UK. He was instrumental in the company’s transformation journey, managing key capital allocation initiatives and contributing to its operational scale-up.
Before his stint at Bandhan AMC, Piyush served as Chief of Staff to the MD and CEO at IDFC Ltd, where he was directly responsible for strategic initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, post-merger integration, and investor relations. He also held consulting responsibilities with Oliver Wyman in New York, advising global financial institutions on strategy and transformation.
Earlier in his career, Piyush held investment banking roles at Barclays Investment Bank in New York and Lehman Brothers in London, where he managed convertible bonds, capital markets, and equity structuring mandates. He began his financial career as a summer intern with HSBC, gaining experience in interest rate trading and fixed income markets.
Piyush’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for Cashfree Payments, which recently secured a payment aggregator licence from the Reserve Bank of India, authorising it to offer end-to-end digital transaction solutions including cross-border payments, mobile wallets, and prepaid instruments. The company currently processes over $80 billion in annual payments for more than 800,000 businesses, and recently raised $53 million in a funding round led by KRAFTON Inc. and Apis Partners.
