Singapore, November 2024 – Poh Meng Quek has been appointed as Chief People Officer at National Gallery Singapore and Singapore Art Museum. In this role, Poh Meng will lead HR strategies, cultural transformation, and organizational development for two of Singapore’s leading cultural institutions, ensuring the alignment of people practices with their creative missions.
Poh Meng most recently served as Group Head of Human Capital at Times Publishing Limited, a subsidiary of Fraser and Neave/Thaibev. Over five years, he was instrumental in leading HR for businesses spanning e-commerce, retail, EdTech, and sustainable packaging. As a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and board members, Poh Meng spearheaded culture transformation, talent initiatives, and total rewards programs for the group’s operations across Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.
Before joining Times Publishing, Poh Meng took a sabbatical for personal development and exploration. Prior to this, he spent over seven years as Regional HR Director, Asia Pacific at Molnlycke Health Care, overseeing HR operations across key markets such as China, Japan, India, and Australia. He played a pivotal role in shaping culture strategies, driving talent development, and designing sales efficiency programs to support business growth.
Earlier in his career, Poh Meng was Regional HR Manager (APAC) at JMJ Associates, where he led HR for start-up operations across Australia, China, and the Middle East. At UTAC, he served as Group HR Manager, managing talent acquisition, industrial relations, and global HR coordination for a workforce of over 10,000 employees across Asia, Europe, and the USA.
Poh Meng began his HR career at NTUC as a Senior Industrial Relations Officer, followed by an HR Business Partner role at SMRT, where he supported HR operations for a workforce of over 4,300 employees. His early experiences laid a strong foundation in industrial relations and HR management.
