Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, September 2025 — JM Financial Ltd has announced the appointment of Priyankar Biswas, CFA as Executive Director. In his new role, Priyankar will focus on strengthening the firm’s equity research and investment strategy capabilities, leveraging his extensive experience in macro analysis, sectoral research, and financial services leadership.
Priyankar joins JM Financial after serving as Associate Director at BNP Paribas, where he contributed significantly to investment research across key sectors, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, macroeconomic trends, and qualitative analysis.
Previously, he spent more than eight years with Nomura, advancing to the role of Vice President, where he worked extensively on infrastructure, industrials, ports, logistics, and metals. His tenure at Nomura was marked by deep sectoral insights and impactful equity research that supported global investors in making informed decisions.
Earlier in his career, Priyankar was with HSBC Global Technology India as a Junior Analyst in equity research, covering oil and gas, before moving into capital goods and industrials research. He also worked as Assistant Manager in Project Management at Reliance Energy Limited, where he contributed to large-scale thermal power projects, including the landmark Raghunathpur 1200 MW project. His early exposure to project finance and infrastructure gave him a strong foundation in operational and financial analysis.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, Priyankar was awarded a pre-placement offer at HSBC during his equity research internship, recognizing his strong analytical capabilities and industry knowledge. His career reflects a consistent progression through leading financial institutions, combining rigorous equity research with investment insights that align with evolving market dynamics.
With his new role at JM Financial Ltd, Priyankar is expected to bring a sharper focus on research-driven investment strategies, strengthening the firm’s position as a trusted partner in financial advisory and capital markets.
