Singapore, April 2025 – Pronob Jyoti Chetia has been appointed as Head of People & Culture, Lyon & International Region, Service Market Logistics at Volvo Group. In his new role, he will lead the People & Culture agenda for a diverse and expansive region that spans Algeria, Morocco, UAE, Turkey, South Africa, France, Indonesia, India, South Korea, China, Singapore, and Australia—supporting regional strategy and talent engagement for Volvo’s service logistics operations.
Chetia has been a key part of the Volvo Group for nearly 17 years, most recently serving as Head of People & Culture for the APAC Region within Service Market Logistics. In this capacity, he managed HR strategy, internal communications, lean transformation, and cultural change across Asia-Pacific. His contribution extended beyond HR to include strategy coordination and performance systems, aligning people processes with Volvo’s global growth trajectory.
Prior to that, he spent six years as Director – HR for Volvo Group Trucks Operations, Logistics Services, APAC Region, based in Bengaluru, where he oversaw end-to-end HR transformation, industrial relations, and organizational development. His leadership was pivotal in enabling cross-border collaboration and building cohesive, future-ready teams across the region.
Chetia started his Volvo journey as Corporate HR Manager in India, where he managed shared services and CoE functions like C&B, recruitment, and learning. His early roles included acting as HR Business Partner for Volvo Construction Equipment and other business units, setting a strong foundation for his rise through the HR ranks at Volvo.
Before joining Volvo, Chetia held HR leadership positions at TVS Motor Company, Tata Motors, DHL, and Grasim Industries (Aditya Birla Group). His early career journey included exposure to training, performance appraisals, HR audits, and employee engagement, building an all-rounded HR acumen from the ground up.
