Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, July 2025 — Raelyn Trende has joined UnitedHealth Group as Senior Vice President of Strategy, Talent, and Innovation. In her new role, Raelyn will be responsible for leading the strategic vision around talent management, fostering innovation in people practices, and enhancing the organization’s overall culture and workforce engagement. Her focus will be on driving initiatives that help build one of the most talented and compassionate workforces in healthcare.
Before joining UnitedHealth Group, Raelyn was Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Apogee Enterprises, where she spearheaded leadership development, cultural transformation, and enterprise HR strategy. Prior to that, she served in several senior HR roles at Medtronic, including Vice President, Head of Global Talent Acquisition, HR PMO, HR Technology, Analytics and AI, where she helped shape global hiring practices and talent strategies.
Raelyn’s earlier career includes a successful tenure at Optum, a part of UnitedHealth Group, where she was Senior Vice President, Human Capital for OptumHealth, leading HR strategy for over 100,000 employees and advising top business leaders. She also spent over 16 years at Target, rising through various HR leadership roles, where she contributed to enterprise HR transformation, talent acquisition, and technology implementation. Her professional journey also includes impactful roles at Cargill, Wilsons Leather, and National Car Rental/ANC Rental Corporation.
Raelyn holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Development and Change and an MBA in Human Resources from the University of St. Thomas, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from St. Cloud State University.
