hennai, Tamil Nadu, India, April 2025 — Rajiv Chaturvedi has been appointed as President & Chief Business Officer at Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV). With over two decades of leadership in the construction and commercial vehicle sectors, Rajiv takes on this pivotal role at a strategic juncture for DICV as it strengthens its market position with the BharatBenz brand.
Before joining DICV, Rajiv served as Senior Vice President – Sales, After-Sales, and Parts at HD Hyundai Construction Equipment India Pvt Ltd, where he led significant gains in revenue, profitability, and market share. Under his leadership, Hyundai rose from the fourth to the second-largest player in the segment, while also pioneering new business verticals and expanding into international markets across Africa, the Middle East, and ASEAN regions.
Earlier in his career, Rajiv held leadership positions at Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery Company, where he progressed from Graduate Engineer Trainee to National Head – Mining. His tenure was marked by exponential growth in market share, innovative dealer development strategies, and the implementation of large-scale process improvement initiatives in collaboration with global consulting firms like McKinsey and Siemens.
In his new capacity at DICV, Rajiv will spearhead the commercial organization, driving integrated strategies across sales, marketing, customer service, and parts. His appointment reinforces Daimler Truck AG’s commitment to nurturing local leadership talent to lead India’s journey toward sustainable growth and global integration in the commercial vehicle landscape.
