Gurugram, Haryana, India, February 2025 – Ram Kuppuswamy, previously serving as Chief Procurement and Supply Chain Officer, has taken on the expanded role of Chief Operations Officer – Manufacturing at Hero MotoCorp. In this expanded role, he will oversee plant operations and quality management, aligning manufacturing strategies with the company’s long-term business objectives.
Ram Kuppuswamy has been a part of Hero MotoCorp for over three years, where he most recently served as Chief Procurement and Supply Chain Officer. In this role, he played a critical role in transforming procurement and supply chain functions, making them more agile and future-ready. His leadership drove cost efficiencies, supplier collaborations, and operational excellence, aligning with Hero MotoCorp’s evolving market strategy.

Prior to Hero MotoCorp, Ram worked at VMware, where he led strategic sales operations for key accounts across Asia-Pacific and Japan. Before that, he spent over five years at Airtel as Director, Supply Chain and Global Chief Procurement Officer, overseeing a $11 billion telecom supply chain across 17 countries. His leadership at Airtel resulted in significant cost savings, enhanced supply chain digitization, and process efficiency improvements.
Earlier, Ram held senior global leadership roles at Microsoft and Nokia, where he managed multi-billion-dollar sourcing, procurement, and supply chain operations. As Senior Director and Head of Asia Sourcing at Nokia, he led a $4.5 billion direct material spend, improving supplier collaboration, innovation, and operational efficiencies. His contributions in Nokia’s North American customer logistics and Finland-based manufacturing operations further strengthened his expertise in supply chain resilience and manufacturing process optimization.
Before joining the corporate world, Ram spent five years at A.T. Kearney as a Principal, specializing in global operations, logistics, and procurement strategies for Fortune 500 clients. Additionally, he held supply chain and operations leadership roles at i2 Technologies and Exeter Group, working on forecasting models, process automation, and cost-reduction strategies for global enterprises.
With extensive experience spanning technology, telecom, and automotive industries, Ram brings a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end supply chain and manufacturing excellence. His appointment as Chief Operations Officer – Manufacturing at Hero MotoCorp positions him to drive innovation, operational efficiency, and supply chain optimization in the company’s manufacturing ecosystem.
