Boston, Massachusetts, United States, July 2025 – Rebecca Freiwald has been promoted to Vice President, Global Talent Management at Bain & Company, continuing her long-standing journey with the global consulting powerhouse. In her new role, she will lead Bain’s worldwide talent management strategy, ensuring a cohesive approach to talent planning, performance, employee experience, and leadership development across the firm’s global network.

Rebecca has spent over 11 years at Bain & Company, steadily progressing through a range of global HR leadership roles. Most recently, she served as Senior Director, Global HR and Talent, where she acted as a strategic adviser and HR business partner for Bain’s global professional departments, impacting over 2,500 employees across 65 offices. She led a high-performing team to deliver comprehensive HR solutions while partnering closely with senior leadership on organization design, DEI, compensation, and talent planning.

Prior to that, she was Director, Global HR and Talent, where she built scalable HR strategies and frameworks for Bain’s talent operations. In earlier roles such as Senior HR Business Partner and HR Business Partner – Global Talent Management, Rebecca played a key role in enhancing employee engagement, performance programs, and organizational transformation.

Before joining Bain, Rebecca worked as a Consultant at Strategic Offsites Group, advising executive teams on long-term strategy, process design, and leadership alignment. Her consulting engagements spanned various sectors including retail, media, healthcare, and financial services.

Earlier in her career, she coordinated business-education partnerships for the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and Los Angeles Unified School District, and served as Senior Scheduler in the Office of Presidential Appointments and Scheduling at The White House.

Rebecca holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, with concentrations in strategic management, marketing, and finance.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
