Bentonville, Arkansas, United States, July 2025 — Walmart Inc. has announced the appointment of Ricardo Hruschka-Bonds as the new Vice President of People for the End-to-End Business at Sam’s Club, marking a significant leadership move in the company’s HR and talent strategy.
Ricardo joins Sam’s Club with over 18 years of global HR leadership experience across Fortune 500 companies in retail, e-commerce, healthcare, and hospitality sectors. Prior to joining Walmart, he served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Carelon (Elevance Health), where he led strategic human capital initiatives for over 50,000 associates, driving innovation, inclusion, and performance.
Earlier, he held the role of Human Resources Director for Amazon Logistics & Transportation, supporting close to 400,000 employees globally and leading a large-scale HR function. His tenure at UnitedHealth Group as SVP of Human Capital – Global further solidified his expertise in leading people strategies across diverse geographies and complex matrix organizations.
Ricardo has also held key HR leadership positions at Apple, Sofitel, and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, building HR capabilities across international markets, overseeing M&A transitions, labor relations, and workforce strategies.
He is an alumnus of several premier institutions including Harvard Business School, Yale School of Management, and Cornell University, with certifications in Disruptive Strategy, Healthcare Management, and Strategic HR Leadership.
In his new role at Sam’s Club, Ricardo will be responsible for building world-class people strategies to empower associates, strengthen member experience, and help shape the future of retail as part of Walmart’s people-led and tech-powered vision.
