Seattle, WA, United States, July 2024 – Rob Stern has been appointed as the new Vice President, Human Resources – Corporate Functions at Starbucks. With a distinguished tenure at Starbucks, Rob will now lead a team of HR directors and HR Business Partners, supporting various corporate functions including Global Supply Chain and the Merchant & Product organization.
Rob Stern has dedicated over 17 years to Starbucks, progressively advancing through multiple HR roles. His journey at Starbucks began as a Recruiter in January 2007. Over the years, he has held several key positions including HR Manager – Finance, HR Manager – US Retail, and Manager, Talent Management. As the Director of Talent Management, Rob was responsible for onboarding, performance management, talent and succession planning, and aligning performance philosophy with rewards execution.
In his recent role as Human Resources Director – Corporate Functions, Rob led teams supporting leadership across Human Resources, Public Affairs, Law & Corporate Affairs, and Finance. His most recent short-term assignment was as Vice President, Human Resources, where he led a team of HR Business Partners for nearly 3000 retail stores across the West Division.
Before joining Starbucks, Rob gained significant HR experience at UPS, where he held various positions such as HR Generalist, HR Supervisor, and Staffing Specialist.
