Kingston, Jamaica, March 2025 – Highgate, a global leader in hospitality management and real estate investment, has appointed Romario L. Buchanan as Director of Human Resources, where he will support the ROK Hotel Kingston, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, in driving its people and performance strategy. In his new role, Romario is responsible for aligning HR leadership with the organization’s cultural vision, elevating employee engagement, and enhancing the overall talent experience across all levels of the hotel’s operations.
Romario joins Highgate with a multifaceted background in HR leadership, talent acquisition, and transformation strategy. Most recently, he served as Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition & Recruiting at Transparent BPO, where he led high-performing recruiting operations and implemented initiatives that significantly improved the quality of hire and team productivity. Prior to that, he held the position of Manager, Talent Acquisition & Recruiting at the same company, successfully transforming the recruiting infrastructure and mentoring recruitment teams to drive results.

Romario also worked as a Business Process Group Officer for Talent Acquisition (US) at KPMG, where he managed candidate assessments and streamlined processes across key hiring functions. Earlier in his career, he gained experience in sales and customer experience at Guardsman Group, Scotiabank, and IBEX, which further shaped his people-centric and performance-driven approach.
In parallel to his corporate roles, Romario continues to serve as Global Co-Chairman at Carifika Inc, a not-for-profit focused on shaping lives through purpose-led transformation, and works as an Executive HR Consultant, supporting organizations globally in unlocking their potential through strategic people practices.
