California, United States, February 2026 — Pixxel, a global space data company operating the world’s highest-resolution commercial hyperspectral imaging constellation, has announced that Ryan McKinney has started a new position as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). In this role, Ryan will be responsible for accelerating Pixxel’s commercial growth and go-to-market momentum as the company expands adoption of its hyperspectral data and analytics across sectors such as agriculture, energy, environment, and mining.
With deep experience across remote sensing, space-tech commercialization, strategic initiatives, and high-growth business development, Ryan brings strong leadership capabilities to scale enterprise revenue and partnerships for advanced Earth observation solutions.
Prior to joining Pixxel, Ryan McKinney served for nearly 2 years at Umbra as Director – Remote Sensing, strengthening his expertise in advanced satellite sensing technologies and commercial remote sensing programs.
Before Umbra, Ryan spent over 2 years at Satellogic North America, where he progressed through senior leadership roles including President and earlier Vice President & General Manager. During this period, he played a key role in leading North America operations and strengthening commercial execution for Earth observation solutions.
Earlier, he worked with Descartes Labs for about 3 years as Head of Strategic Initiatives, contributing to strategic growth priorities and market-aligned innovation at the intersection of geospatial analytics and decision intelligence.
Prior to that, Ryan spent nearly 3.5 years at Cyence (later acquired by Guidewire Software) in Business Development, where he supported market expansion of a platform that quantified the financial impact of cyber risk—used widely across the insurance industry for risk selection, pricing, and portfolio management.
Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Business Development and Sales Operations at Shadow Networks (acquired by Acalvio), focusing on advanced cybersecurity solutions for enterprise and government networks. He also spent over 4 years at Circadence as Director of Federal Sales, building strong experience in public sector and federal enterprise sales environments.
Ryan’s earlier commercial leadership journey also includes business development roles at Enterasys Networks (acquired by Extreme Networks), Global Technology Resources (working with prime integrators such as Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, SAIC, and CSC), and early-career roles at NetScout Systems, Enterasys Networks, and Tech Data Corporation, building a strong foundation in enterprise go-to-market, channel sales, and strategic partnerships.
