Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom, November 2025 — Sam Farrar has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at BSN Social Care, a leading group of fostering agencies committed to providing safe, nurturing environments for children across the UK. With over a decade of experience in finance, private equity, and mergers & acquisitions, Sam brings strategic acumen and operational excellence to his new role, strengthening BSN’s financial leadership and growth capabilities.

Sam joined BSN Social Care earlier this year as Finance Director, where he played a pivotal role in leading financial strategy, governance, and M&A activities. His contributions during this tenure positioned him as a trusted financial leader, earning him the promotion to Chief Financial Officer. In his new role, Sam will oversee all financial operations, investment strategy, and fiscal management across BSN’s portfolio of agencies, ensuring continued financial resilience and sustainable growth.

Prior to BSN, Sam served as Chief Financial Officer at SRK Consulting, where he was responsible for financial planning, corporate governance, and capital structuring during a period of business transformation. Before that, he spent five successful years with Acquis, serving as both Finance Director and Group Financial Controller. During his time at Acquis, Sam played a central role in shaping the financial frameworks that supported the company’s expansion across Europe, driving strategic investment and private equity partnerships.

Earlier in his career, Sam honed his expertise at PwC UK, progressing through roles including Senior Manager, Manager, and Senior Associate. His time at PwC was marked by significant involvement in Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), advising high-value clients and managing complex financial transactions. Sam began his professional journey at Hill Wooldridge & Co as a Senior Accountant, building a strong foundation in accounting and financial management that has continued to underpin his leadership approach.

About BSN Social Care

BSN Social Care is the parent organization for four of the UK’s leading independent fostering agencies — Blue Sky Fostering, Nexus Fostering, Calon Cymru Fostering, and Olive Branch. Together, these agencies share a mission to ensure every child has access to a stable, loving, and supportive home environment.

BSN provides centralized management services including Finance, Marketing, HR, Facilities, and New Business Development, supporting over 500 young people across the Midlands, South of England, and South Wales. With a reputation for excellence — and multiple Ofsted “Outstanding” ratings — BSN continues to expand its positive impact through strong partnerships with more than 100 Local Authorities, offering specialized support for children with diverse needs, including therapeutic services, parent-child placements, and care for unaccompanied asylum seekers.
