Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, May 2024 – Santanu Ghoshal has started a new position as President – Organization Development at Walchandnagar Industries Limited. With extensive experience in human resources and organizational development, Santanu is set to lead the company’s initiatives in enhancing organizational effectiveness and driving strategic growth.
At Schaeffler, Santanu served as the Chief Human Resources Officer and Head of CSR for nearly 14 years. In this role, he led and supported the integration of three different legal entities of Schaeffler in India and spearheaded cultural transformation to align the organization’s people strategy with business objectives. His efforts were instrumental in business transformation and growth, and he played a key role in Schaeffler India’s CSR initiatives.
Prior to his tenure at Schaeffler, Santanu was the Director of Human Resources at General Motors for over four years. He led HR strategy for GM’s greenfield project in Talegaon, contributing significantly to building a world-class plant and maintaining zero attrition in the core team during his tenure.
Santanu also worked at The Timken Company for over six years, where he held various roles, including HR Manager for India and Timken Research. He focused on talent strategy, social outreach initiatives, and setting up the company’s shared services center in Bangalore.
At Exide Industries Limited, Santanu served as the Manager of Corporate HR, leading several critical projects such as the introduction of quality circles, SAP HR implementation, and campus engagement.
He began his career as a Personnel Executive at Crompton Greaves, where he progressed through various business units in the Switch Gear division, managing HR functions for different product lines.
