Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, September 2025 — Scott Kennedy has been appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer of Caribou Coffee, effective immediately. Kennedy, who previously served as Chief Financial Officer and was appointed Interim CEO in March 2025, now formally steps into the leadership role to guide the company’s next chapter of growth.

Kennedy has been with Caribou Coffee since 2019, where he held the dual responsibilities of CFO and Interim CEO, overseeing financial strategy and operational performance during a period of transformation. His leadership ensured stability and positioned the company for sustainable expansion.
Before joining Caribou Coffee, Kennedy spent over a decade at Target Corporation, where he served as President, Financial & Retail Services, managing guest payment transactions, Target’s $6 billion credit card portfolio, and enterprise contact center operations. He also held senior roles as Vice President, Pay & Benefits, Vice President, Finance, and Vice President, Controller, shaping compensation, benefits, financial reporting, and strategic business services across the retailer’s nationwide operations.
Earlier in his career, Kennedy was a Partner at KPMG US, where he spent more than 15 years supporting multinational clients across industries in Australia, Colorado, and Minnesota, gaining deep expertise in audit, controls assessment, and corporate accounting. His broad financial and operational background underpins his ability to lead Caribou Coffee with a strong blend of strategic and operational insight.
