Zurich, Switzerland, October 2025 — On, the Swiss sportswear innovator known for its lightweight, high-performance footwear and apparel, has announced the appointment of Scott Maguire as Chief Operating Officer, effective January. The appointment signals On’s intensified focus on aligning innovation and operations as it prepares for its next phase of global expansion.
Maguire, who joined On earlier this year as Chief Innovation Officer, will now assume a dual mandate—leading both innovation and operations. In his expanded role, he will oversee On’s global supply chain, manufacturing, and product innovation ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration between design, engineering, and delivery. A key strategic priority will be scaling On’s Lightspray shoemaking robots, which debuted in the production of its marathon-grade footwear and are now set for broader rollout across its performance and lifestyle lines.
Before joining On, Maguire held senior leadership positions at Specialized Bicycle Components and Dyson, where he spent nearly 19 years driving large-scale engineering, design, and manufacturing transformations. At Dyson, he served as Chief Operating Officer, SVP of Global Engineering and Operations, and Global Engineering Director, contributing to Dyson’s evolution into one of the world’s most advanced technology and design organizations.
His earlier leadership at Specialized Bicycle Components included serving as Chief Executive Officer of Innovation and Chief Executive Officer, where he led technology-led product advancements and operational efficiencies across global markets. Maguire also served on the Board of The Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology and as a Member of the Board of Advisors at the Singapore University of Technology and Design, reinforcing his long-standing commitment to innovation leadership and talent development.
Maguire succeeds Samuel Wenger, who departs On after seven years to pursue opportunities in the startup ecosystem. Wenger played a pivotal role in On’s rise to global prominence—establishing its sourcing operations in Vietnam, leading its retail expansion, and steering its finance division through its successful IPO in 2021.
As On enters the final year of its three-year growth strategy, Maguire’s appointment reflects the company’s mission to double net sales, deepen its global presence—particularly across Asia—and accelerate innovation-led scalability.
