Dhaka, Bangladesh — Shakil Abir has taken on the role of Head of Human Resources (Senior General Manager) at Concord Group of Companies. With a robust background in human resources spanning over a decade, Abir brings a wealth of experience and strategic insight to one of Bangladesh’s leading business conglomerates.
Prior to his new role at Concord, Abir served as General Manager of Group HR at NAVANA Group, where he led HR operations across multiple facilities, enhancing systems in HR rewards, payroll, and industrial relations.
Before NAVANA Group, he was the Chief Human Resources Officer at AHL-A Holdings Limited, where he was instrumental in developing HR strategies that supported the company’s broad operational goals and nurtured a healthy workforce.
His experience also includes a significant tenure as Director of Human Resources at JTI (Japan Tobacco International) in Poland, where he managed global mobility operations and payroll systems for a diverse international staff.
Abir’s career highlights include roles at prominent organizations such as Axis Pipe and Tube Inc., where he directed HR for two manufacturing plants and the corporate office, significantly optimizing recruitment strategies and HR compliance. Additionally, he has held leadership roles at Bar-S Foods Co. and Teleperformance, demonstrating his capability in managing complex HR functions and multinational employee relations.
