Taiwan, September 2024 – Sherine Yap has started her new role as Head of Talent Acquisition – Taiwan and Southeast Asia at ASML, where she will lead the talent acquisition strategy for the region. In this position, Sherine will focus on recruiting top talent to support ASML’s growth and innovation in the semiconductor industry across Taiwan and Southeast Asia.
Before joining ASML, Sherine held a pivotal role at Flex, where she served as Senior Director of Talent Acquisition – Asia for over six years. In this role, she managed a regional talent acquisition team across several countries, including Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, and Malaysia. Sherine was a strong advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that Flex’s global workforce reflected these values. Her leadership helped drive successful hiring strategies that aligned with Flex’s long-term goals across multiple industries and markets.
Prior to this, Sherine was the Director of Talent Acquisition – Asia at Flex, responsible for elevating the company’s talent acquisition capabilities across the region. She successfully implemented world-class recruitment strategies and ensured that the right talent was brought in to meet business objectives. Her role also involved overseeing continuous improvements in the company’s Workday ATS to enhance recruitment processes.
Before Flex, Sherine worked at Korn Ferry Futurestep as a Consultant for Southeast Asia, where she managed talent acquisition projects and drove successful placements for large-scale recruitment engagements. Her responsibilities included working closely with clients to understand their strategic hiring needs and building strong relationships within the business community.
Earlier in her career, Sherine worked with PeopleFirst as a Senior Regional Consultant, where she was instrumental in growing the business and setting up the HR specialization practice. She also spent several years at F&N Dairies and HRnet One in key account and consulting roles, further strengthening her expertise in talent acquisition and strategic leadership.
