Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, August 2025 — Sonika Verma has been appointed as Director, Strategy and Performance Management (Group Technology Service Management) at Barclays, bringing with her over two decades of leadership experience in technology strategy, performance management, risk, compliance, and change management. In her new role, she will focus on driving operational excellence, aligning technology services with strategic goals, and enhancing performance across the group’s technology service management functions.
Before joining Barclays, Sonika served as Director and Chief of Staff for Technology Services at UBS, where she played a pivotal role in strategic planning and operational delivery. Her tenure at UBS also included serving as Chief of Staff, WMPC Tech India, where she streamlined technology operations and supported global initiatives.
Earlier, Sonika spent over 12 years at Credit Suisse, holding multiple Vice President positions, including Vendor Engagement & Management, Swiss Universal Bank IT and Workforce Strategy, Group CIO, where she led vendor management programs, workforce optimization strategies, and group-wide CIO initiatives.
She began her career at Aviva, where she served as Associate Vice President – Risk, Compliance & Change and Manager – Change, Service Delivery, overseeing governance frameworks, risk and compliance processes, and major transformation projects across offshore operations.
