Greater Toronto Area, Canada, June 2024 – Sophie Theriault has joined AstraZeneca as the new Director, HR Business Partner. Sophie brings over 20 years of extensive experience in human resources and strategic leadership to this new role, ready to enhance HR functions across multiple regions.
Sophie Theriault has been with AstraZeneca for over two years. Prior to her current role, she served as the Senior Manager, Human Resources Business Partner for two years, based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Her responsibilities included providing strategic HR support, developing high-performing teams, and working closely with business leaders to drive organizational success.
Before that, Sophie was the Human Resources Manager at CSA Group for over a year. She provided HR support to the corporate office and two facilities, reinforcing a leadership and coaching culture to develop high-performing teams and manage union relations.
At Moneris, Sophie served as a Human Resources Manager for over a year. She collaborated with business leaders to provide HR counsel and develop HR programs aligned with corporate strategic objectives.
Sophie spent over six years at TC Energy as a Senior Human Resources Consultant. She provided strategic and operational HR support to Operations and Engineering teams across multiple sites, guided leaders on talent management and organizational design, and managed change projects.
Sophie held the position of Bilingual Human Resources Manager at BASF for a year, where she provided HR advice and coaching to business leaders, supporting the achievement of business goals and objectives.
Earlier in her career, Sophie worked as a Corporate Human Resources Manager at North American Palladium Ltd for a year. She managed the HR corporate function, provided guidance and coaching to the leadership team, and introduced a new performance management program.
At The Hershey Company, Sophie served as a Human Resources Business Partner for five years, where she was responsible for all aspects of HR, including performance management, resolving employee issues, recruitment, and succession planning.
She also held positions at Campbell Soup Company, including Manager of Recruitment & On-Boarding and HR Systems Project Lead, for over five years. She was responsible for leading recruitment and onboarding processes, managing HR systems projects, and supporting HR functions.
Sophie began her HR career as a Compensation Analyst at Bayer for nearly two years, where she provided support in compensation analysis and HR functions.
