Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, June 2024 – Jillian Pearse has joined The University of Winnipeg as the new Executive Director, HR Services. With a rich background in employee relations, strategic human resources, and administrative support, Jillian brings extensive expertise to the team, aiming to enhance the university’s HR strategies and support its diverse workforce.
Before joining The University of Winnipeg, Jillian served as a Staff Relations Officer at the University of Manitoba for nearly 4 years. In this role, she managed employee and labour relations, provided strategic consultation, and supported various administrative units to achieve their HR goals.
Jillian also worked as a Faculty Relations Consultant at MacEwan University for approximately 2 years. She provided employee and labour relations support to university faculty, deans, and senior administrators, managed grievances, and led investigations.
At the University of Alberta, Jillian held the role of HR Partner for over 4 years, where she provided strategic HR consultation and services to faculties and administrative units, helping them achieve their strategic and operational goals.
Her career includes significant experience with the Government of Alberta, where she served as a Human Resources Consultant and Regional Human Resources Advisor for nearly 3 years. She provided full HR generalist support, translated department strategies into organizational capabilities, and ensured the region had the necessary skills and competencies.
Earlier in her career, Jillian worked with the Edmonton Police Service for almost 5 years, holding increasingly complex positions within the Human Resources Division, including Employment Team Lead, Employment Coordinator, and Employment Assistant.
